Our Story

This ministry was founded in 2009 as "Time Away With Jesus" by Valerie Elyott, who stepped out in faith and obedience to the Lord to host a weekend retreat. Her instruction was simply "Gather them and I will come", and the Lord has surely been faithful to His word. The first retreat was more than she could have ever imagined. The Lord moved powerfully in the hearts and lives present. His presence was evident for the 3 days of the retreat, stirring up a desire for a deeper place of intimacy with Him. This set the tone for the future of the ministry. 

Following further instruction from the Lord, she started hosting monthly meetings to provide a space for pressing on deeper with Jesus. Over the years, much more has been accomplished in obedience and service to the Lord. From weekend retreats, to day events, youth events, worship events and an online discipleship fellowship; facilitated by what has grown into a thriving team of commited disciples of Jesus Christ, now called 1Aflame.

Our team is made up of passionate Christians from different backgrounds across generations, in various continents of the world, serving the Lord and growing in Him together. 

The ministry name was changed to The Elyott Generation in 2018, to reflect the heart posture of the community that serves this vision. A people who have fully embraced: Who we are, Whose we are and What we were created to fulfil in the earth. Elyott means 'The Lord in my God' or 'The Lord is God'.

The Elyott Generation is a registered CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) Our Charity Number is 1159926.   

The Elyott Generation is a member of Churches in Communities International. 

- To Stir hearts to seek and discover a deeper and more intimate relationship with the Lord, by hosting events that create the environment for such moments.

- To help people to discover their full potential in Christ and live it out, by teaching and journeying with others.

- To support the welfare of individuals and communities, by praying, giving and serving where possible.

We support individuals in their pursuit of purpose and personal development. Raising and equipping people to embrace their identity in Christ and step into fulfilling the Lord’s desire and callings for their lives.  

We provide encouragement, helpful resources and guidance, as individuals take steps of faith to fulfill their callings, in any sphere of life.   

We offer mentorship and training, host multi-generational worship and teaching gatherings, spiritual retreats, pop-up community events and leadership support. 

We equip individuals, families and community groups to improve and enhance their lives.

Our 'Love Gifts' are a constant reminder of how known and loved the recipients are by the Lord. Each gift is a very personal and symbolic expression of God's love and provision.

Our Retreats provide people with the opportunity to have a personal time-out and focus on their well-being, spirit, soul and body.
